Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

Wong Corporation's social responsibility is inspired by the values of a service of excellence; constant innovation; high performance; safety; and a working atmosphere suitable for its collaborators. In harmony with these values, Wong Corporation acts to promote care for the environment and the prevention and control of factors that affect it; cultural preservation; the sustainable development of society; respect for diversity and the reduction of social inequalities.



The Environment
Wong Corporation supports environmentally friendly activities by developing recycling campaigns, not only to avoid pollution but also to aid social institutions through the collection of paper, batteries, plastic and glass.
The Wong chain was the first supermarket to offer its customers 100% biodegradable plastic bags.

Community relations
Each store has been installed according to a 'Good Neighbor' policy with the community and town council. Collaborators organize inclusive activities, using Centro Ann Sullivan and other related institutions to attract their colleagues with different skills. Sponsorship is provided for the development of the Special Olympics, with the organization of campaigns to support special athletes and their participation in both national and international competitions.

In addition to this, Wong maintains a permanent policy of literary sponsorship of books and authors that deal with Peruvian issues. For more than twenty years the company has promoted the Independence Day Parades and national gastronomy.

Strategic alliances have been established with various institutions for the production of functional and enriched foods.

Change Collection
The company carries out a solidarity act through the collection of change, which is then directed to Caritas Perú, a nationwide institution run by the Catholic Church in order to help develop the poorest and most excluded communities in the country.
